From their Meetup.com page:

So I think it's time that Atlanta catches up with the rest of the innovative cities in this country and dive into the world of Node.

The focus of this group will be to learn node js through a practical approach. We will have keynote introductions of meetings, followed by discussions, and then hacking/development sessions where we will learn to rapidly build applications. While we may have the occasional outside expert speaker, our goals are to promote knowledge and gain experience in this new technology by work from members within the group.

Members may be developers of all skill levels, designers looking to leverave javascript skill sets, architects looking for faster ways to build scalable systems, and engineering managers who want to understand how this technology can be utilized in their company.

And of course anyone interested in changing the world.

We will have a heavy focus on mobile computing devices and other smart devices like TVs with less focus on plain desktop pc.

    Hello Peeps!

We have a great meeting lined up for you this month!

    Tom Merrihew will present

    Enhancing Node.js Apps with Electron

Electron is a framework for building cross platform desktop apps using Chromium and Node.js. In this talk, we will explore some of the Node-specific features of Electron and how to leverage them for your next project.

Tom is Co-Founder and V.P. of Engineering at Gather, an Atlanta startup that builds cloud-based event management software used by thousands of restaurants across the U.S. Gather's API is built entirely on Node.js and handles over 70 million monthly requests.

After Tom's presentation, Joseph DeCarlo will moderate

    Open Spaces

Open Spaces is a discussion format that allows attendees to vote on and participate in conversations on topics chosen by the audience. It is a great way for you to talk about or just learn about a topic that you chose. It also allows other audience members to share their expertise.
